What it is

Coconut oil, refined for industry

RBD stands for refined, bleached and deodorised. Crude coconut oil is refined to remove free fatty acids, bleached to lighten its colour and deodorised to take out the coconut taste and smell. What's left is a clear, neutral oil that behaves the same from batch to batch, with coconut oil's stability and its high lauric acid content.

It isn't virgin coconut oil, which is unrefined and keeps its coconut taste. Like all coconut oil, it sets below about 25 °C and turns liquid again when gently warmed, with no effect on quality.

Our RBD coconut oil comes from the Philippines, where our coconut work started, and is supplied through our affiliate, IRIE Coconut Products Manufacturing Inc.
